Promoting a blog/website is not easy. It is especially not easy when you are working one full time job, coming off of a major travel agenda, relearning old skills for the new job and trying to spark new creative ideas. It hit me today that I've lost touch with my original vision for this blog.
Rereading my first blog post Chasing Visions brought me back in touch with the why I'm doing this.
"Chase the vision, not the money. Make sure that your business has a greater purpose beyond the bottom line. Figure out what you'd be so passionate about that doing that you'd be happy doing it for 10 years even if you never made any money from it. And then go do it - the ironic thing is that if you are actually chasing the vision and not the money, the money will follow." Advice from Tony Hsieh, founder of Zappos.
The realization that I was chasing something other than the purpose was compromising my vision of the blog. The more I choose to show up with my authentic voice the more heart warming experiences come my way. That is the vision for the blog - finding my voice while sharing it through writing, creating, and exploring.
Right now I'm choosing to chase the vision. Everything else will find its way to the surface in the right time.
